Job Description: Case Manager for Emergency Cold Weather Shelter

Over the winter, Chaplains on the Harbor will open as a cold weather shelter, overnight, when the temperature drops below 35 degrees. We will be open from 6pm to 9am on those days and will provide dinner and breakfast to guests. We expect 10-20 guests per night.

We are looking to hire a part time case manager and supervisor for this shelter project. We expect to be open around 50 nights between November 2017-April 2018. This position would be responsible for scheduling meals, volunteers, and night shifts, and be able to take shifts themselves. They would also be responsible for, from 6-8pm on the evenings we are open, meeting with guests and assessing their needs.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, treats people with dignity and respect, and supports harm reduction.

This position will begin November 1, 2017 and extend through April 14, 2018, with hours worked depending on need. There may be the potential, if funding is secured, for this position to extend beyond April and into regular case management.

Pay will be $15/hr, with 400-600 hours logged over Nov-Apr.
