From our small hospitality offering for folks waiting in line for the food bank next door, we’ve grown to a free breakfast and lunch program that serves 40-60 people and is run by our community members themselves.

We opened our doors in Westport just over two years ago, in the former St. Christopher’s building (provided to us by the Episcopal Church in Western Washington). We are growing a worshiping congregation and piloted an excellent first year of our popular education program “The School of Hard Knocks” (now under renovation to become bigger and badder in 2017!). To date our biggest achievement in Westport has been the successful first season of our cold-weather overnight sanctuary: we stayed open every night for 101 days straight despite resistance from local government, vigilante violence, and a host of plumbing troubles! Regular Westport programs include:

  • Thursday free breakfast and lunch at our church (281 W Spokane St, 9am-1pm), and
  • Last Saturdays of the month, free dinner and worship service (281 W Spokane St, 5pm-7pm).
