Our Team
Sarah Monroe
Co-Founder; Priest-in-Charge

Sarah Monroe is a chaplain, author, and faith leader who has worked alongside people experiencing homelessness, incarceration, and addiction for the past decade. Sarah has a passion for supporting people on whatever their own spiritual path and has studied many different faith traditions. They live with their wife Emily, two cats, and two dogs near a river, and enjoy puttering in a large herb garden, reading fantasy and history, and never quite getting proficient in various crafts.
The Pacific Northwest has been their home for most of their life, and they love the towering forests and waterways that have been the lifeblood of this region for time before memory. Founder and director of Chaplains on the Harbor, they have written and spoken around the country about their work. Sarah holds a Master in Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School (now EDS at Union Theological Seminary) and is ordained in the Episcopal Church.
Sarah blogs and occasionally updates her work at sarahmonroe.org.
